Barry Vincent, MA, MSc, MSyI is the Managing Director and primary consultant for BRV Risk Management. He possesses a unique set of skills and experience. An accomplished security professional and former senior police officer with an extensive risk and crisis management background. During his long police career he had experience in policing operations and strategic planning. In 1997 he was seconded to the United Nations International Police Task Force to Bosnia and Herzegovina as Chief of Operations, to monitor local police activity and, working alongside NATO military personnel, provide security for international agencies in the post civil war restoration programme. On leaving the police service he was appointed Head of Security for the distribution and supply chain for a leading UK food retailer, and latterly responsible for the Company’s business continuity and crisis management arrangements, developing scenario planning and training for operational directors. He also provided internal consultancy to the heads of security in the retailer’s international businesses in Europe and Asia, advising on security in their retail and supply chain operations.

In 2007 in his independent consultancy role he coordinated and developed the retail company’s contingency plan for a potential flu pandemic, and compiled a comprehensive manual for the Company’s directors, setting out the crisis management arrangements to respond to such an eventuality. He is a Consultant Director for Managed Security Services for Adapt Burton developing its operational capacity to deliver managed security solutions to business. His experience coupled with strong analytical and problem solving skills, and a proven capability in the management of change, has placed him in demand by a number of security companies and providers. An effective communicator across all levels he also has credible industry related academic qualifications with an MA in Criminal Justice and an MSc in Risk and Security Management from the University of Leicester. |
